Luxury yacht charter and rental guide

When chartering a luxury yacht from the fleet of Sea & Sea Charters, there are some basic steps to complete.  First, you will need to decide when to leave, provide the number of participants and notify the navigation itinerary, maybe after analysing the services included in the luxury yacht charter fee. Our charter price includes:

  • A luxury yacht for the entire duration of your trip;
  • Crew salary;
  • Catering and cleaning service (both the cabins and common areas);
  • Laundry service;
  • Use of on-board equipment;
  • Kasko civil liability insurance.

Chartering a yacht is like staying in a luxury hotel, but with the advantage of fully enjoying the spectacular view of the sea.

Luxury yacht charter: extra fees

In addition to the costs applied to the luxury yacht charter service offered by Sea & Sea Charters, there are some other expenses, such as fuel, food & beverages and port fees, you are required to pay.

As for fuel, owners of boats and luxury yachts can buy diesel at a subsidised price, which is calculated on an hourly basis. In any case, consumption is indicated in the  technical data sheet of each single yacht.

Port fees are quite variable, and it is the captain who notifies them to guests before being authorised to dock the boat.

Finally, as for food & beverages, you will decide and inform the captain on what you prefer to buy. Please, notice that Sea & Sea Yacht can meet any type of request in this regard, providing menus suitable for people with allergies, vegans and guests with celiac disease, and even Kosher foods.

APA – Advanced Provisioning Allowance

APA is an advance payment to be made when settling accounts in order to manage any extra fees. The captain is responsible for spending the money and shall inform guests of all expenses incurred and provide them with the receipts. At the end of the trip, any unspent sums is returned to the customer by bank transfer or in cash, and if the APA does not cover all the expenses incurred, the captain will inform the customers and discuss with them the amount to be paid to cover them all.

The APA is usually 30% of the charter fee, but it may vary according to the type of luxury yacht and the itinerary selected.

Payment and contract information

MYBA  is the most commonly used luxury yacht charter contract type. It requires a deposit of 50 per cent of the total charter fee (VAT and APA not included), and final payment 30 days before prior to departure, payable to the broker – acting acts as a guarantor for the owner and the customer – and then sent by the latter to Sea & Sea Yacht by bank transfer. The owner, in turn, receives 50 per cent of the sum on the day of embarkation and the other 50 per cent upon disembarkation, so that, in the event of negligence and damage, compensation claims can be made.
